Privacy policy

Precious Photos is a pet photography studio operated by Thomas Wilhelm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This page explains what information the studio collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
What is collected
- Inquiries. When you use the inquiry form or email the studio, we receive your name, email address, any phone number you give, and whatever you write. This is stored in the website and in the studio email account.
- Bookings and payments. Retainers and payments are handled by PayPal. Your card and bank details go to PayPal, never to this website and never to the studio. The studio sees only your name, the amount and the confirmation.
- Client galleries. Finished work is delivered through a private gallery hosted by Pixieset. If you set a password, mark favorites or place an order there, Pixieset processes that on the studio’s behalf.
- Site analytics. This site runs on WordPress.com, which records basic visit statistics such as pages viewed, approximate location and referring site. It sets cookies to do this.
What it is used for
To reply to you, to plan and deliver your session, to take payment, and to understand which parts of the site people actually use. Nothing is sold, rented or traded. You will not be added to a mailing list because you made an inquiry.
Your photographs
Copyright in the photographs remains with Thomas Wilhelm. Your session agreement sets out how images may be used publicly. If you would prefer your animal’s portraits never appear in the portfolio, on social media or in competition entries, say so and that will be honoured, before or after the session. If an image is already published and you change your mind, write to the studio and it comes down.
How long it is kept
Inquiries that do not become bookings are kept for twelve months. Client records and the images themselves are kept indefinitely, because clients come back years later wanting another print. Client galleries stay open for twelve months from delivery unless extended.
Who else touches it
WordPress.com and Jetpack (website and forms), Google Workspace (studio email), PayPal (payments), and Pixieset (client galleries and print orders). Each has its own privacy policy and each is used only for the purpose named here.
What you can ask for
You can ask what the studio holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, and the studio extends them to everyone regardless of where you live. Write to Thomas@Precious.Photos and you will get an answer within thirty days.
Children
This site is not directed at children and the studio does not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. Where children appear in a family session, their images are governed by the session agreement signed by their parent or guardian.
