Twenty-five years of photographing animals on the Front Range, and the thing that still decides whether a picture works is not the camera. It is whether the animal is comfortable enough to be themselves in front of one.

Everything here was made on a directed session with a professional handler present, unhurried, at the animal’s pace. Some are studio pieces built for a specific wall. Some were shot in red rock at the last half hour of light. A few were taken in a living room because that is where the dog was happiest.
